AvaTrade Code 128979: What You Actually Get

Someone asks me about partner codes every couple of weeks. Usually the same question: do they give you free trades or discounted spreads?

Short answer: no. AvaTrade doesn't charge commission on forex. You pay the spread. That's your trading cost. A partner code doesn't change that.

Partner code 128979 gets you access to the deposit bonus. Extra funds in your account based on how much you put in. That's all it does.

What's the bonus amount?

Deposit $1,000 and get $200.

$2,000 gets you $400.

$5,000-$9,999 earns you $1,000 bonus.

Deposit $100,000+ and you can get up to $14,000. Not many traders reach that level.

UK accounts start at £160 for £800 deposited. Goes to £11,200 at the top.

Minimum to open an account is $100. But you need $1,000 to qualify for bonus.

Finding the partner code field

During registration. Below the phone field, look for small text that says "Have a Partner Code?" with an arrow next to it. Click on that text. A field drops down. Type **128979**.

Most people miss it because it doesn't look like a proper form field until you click.

Sometimes it shows as invalid, don't worry. Complete your registration. Contact support before funding. Request partner code 128979 be added. They do this manually all the time.

You can't withdraw the bonus straight away

A trading volume condition applies.

Roughly 10,000 units traded here per $1 bonus. A $200 bonus means trading 2,000,000 units before that $200 unlocks. Slower if you're trading micro lots. Happens faster than you'd think if you're active.

Your own money stays yours. Access it whenever you need. Only the bonus has the restriction.

Something useful to understand: while the bonus is locked, it still counts toward your margin. Allows for slightly larger trades. That breathing room helps while you're learning.
